I've been considering picking up either a 1st gen 2.5RS or either a 2nd gen WRX. Anyone with experience care to weigh in on which is the better option?
Here's the pros of each the way I see it:
2.5RS
Better Styling
Shorter (only 3", but I live in San Francisco so every inch counts when trying to park)
Leather seats
WRX
Better performance
Wagon

I prefer the looks of the 2.5RS. It will probably be a cult classic eventually too.

Wagon? Check. Bugeye? Check.
We're done here.

I'd go with the bugeye wagon personally.

I'd go with the Bugeye because Bugeye (dream Subaru), but the current state of the 2.5RS makes it a very good choice.

I have an 03 bugeye wagon. It's a blast. The 2.5rs will be fun I had a 2.5 legacy wagon that had some pep but easily heavier than the rs so I would imagine the rs would be even more fun than that. But i found myself really wanting that extra power

RS. Lighter, rare-er, may be worth more someday. AND can be swapped with an STi drivetrain if more speed is needed.
Bugeye is in the glass tranny years, but the HG's might be an issue on the RS, sooooo there's yer cons.

Is the styling really better, though? It looks like a small Camry with a hood scoop and golden wheels.

Well, styling is a subjective thing. But yeah, I think the 2.5RS looks better than the bug-eye WRX. That's not to say the WRX is a bad looking car, I quite like both.

I like 'em both, too. I like Subaru's design language of, "hey, we have this econobox that could use a turbo and some scoops and vents and fender flares, bros!".
It's just that this whole ludicrous shared opinion amongst Jalops that Subaru once produced gorgeous cars and has now stopped has gotten me comment trigger happy. As if they were once Alfa Romeo and not a company who strapped go-fast bits to a bunch of their econoboxes.
Jalopnik, Subarus have always looked like Toyotas.

Bugeye. More parts available, I think better looking in wagon spec, quicker and, I think, more fun because turbo!

The 2.5RS. I go to SF a lot and the shorter length is worth it.

The 2.5RS is a bit more reliable, IIRC. That'd be my pick.
